Introduction Letter
Thank you for visiting our website! We are glad you stopped by. We, the Dove family, are missionaries reaching the Latin World for Christ in Costa Rica.
We hope you will enjoy looking at our site and learning more about us. Our site has information about us, our ministry, and what the Lord has called us to do.
Our ministry goals are evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and training nationals. Please pray that the Lord would allow us to accomplish these goals and pray with us about the great need in Costa Rica. We are praying that more people will be called to this needy land.
In 1995, we began our work among the Hispanic people by serving in the Hispanic ministry of our sending church. We received valuable training serving there from 1995-1998.
Believing God called us to full-time missions, we joined Baptist International Missions, Inc. (BIMI) in 1998. After finishing deputation and language school, we served as missionaries in the United States specifically to the Latino population. We planted the Abundant Life Baptist Church (a Spanish-speaking church) in Monroe, North Carolina. The Lord allowed us to be there seven years. With the church established and prospering, God led us to turn the church over to a national pastor.
After turning the church over in Monroe, the Lord burdened our hearts for the country of Costa Rica. We arrived in Costa Rica in 2008 where our family immediately began serving the Lord. During our first year, we worked alongside the national pastor of a growing church in Escazú, serving in whatever capacity we were needed. Then the Lord lead us to branch out on our own.
The Lord allowed us to work in San Rafael of Heredia and also Barva of Heredia.
We are currently in a new church plant in the city of Atenas, the province of Alajuela. Please pray for Iglesia Bautista Victoria of Atenas.
